UPSC CSAT 2016- CIVIL SERVICES EXAM

CSAT, also known as UPSC - Civil Services Examination (PRELIMS) conduct by UPSC. It started in year 2011. The exam has combination of two Sections General Studies and General Aptitude. The final score of the both the subjects enables Candidate to sit in Mains Examination. The candidate then who clears Mains and then gets for Interview, becomes the IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service) and other Central Services which are organized by Central Government.

Last Date to apply : 27 May 2016 till 11:59 PM
Prelims Exam Date : 07 August 2016

Mains Exam : 03 December 2016

Other Details :

                          Age Factor and Qualification Details : Candidates who are 21 Years of Age and not older than 32 Years can apply for CSAT - 2016. Candidate should have bachelor degree or graduated as on 1 August 2016. The passing class can be any. Qualification from any recognized university or board or open university or distance university. Application Fees will be 100/- for General Category Candidates and it will be free for (ST, SC, OBC and Female Candidates). Fees can be payed online in State bank of India and Its Associate Branches through Netbanking, Credit or Debit Card. Also if candidate is unable to make online payment he or she can also pay through offline bank challan.

                          How to Apply : Candidate has to apply CSAT - 2016 online from the official website of UPSC online. Detailed Instruction about how to fill an application is mentioned in the official website. Start Date will be from 23 April 2016 and End Date will be on 20 May 2016 till 11:59 PM after that the online application will be closed. Almost 3,00,000 people apply and only 11000 - 12000 people are qualified for mains exam. Candidates can attempt giving exams for only 6 times. Even you are giving only Prelims it will be counted as 1. If you are not attending any paper then it will not be counted as a attempt.


                Syllabus : UPSC will conduct two paper with 200 questions in each paper and time duration will be 2 Hours for each paper. After clearing this two papers candidate will be forwarded to the Mains Examination. Syllabus in Detail for :

Paper I: Current Events of national and international importance, History of India and Indian National Movement, India and World Geography, India Political System and governance,  General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change and General Science. 

For Paper II : Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills and communication Skills, Logical Reasoning Ability, Decision Making and problem solving, General Mental Ability and Basic Numeracy.        

Things which should be kept in mind :

                   Candidate has to download Admit Card from online and from Official Website. There will be no negative marks given for wrong answers. Mobile and other electronic devices are purely restricted in the Exam Center. Candidate has to apply the application for through online mode only. Candidate should not submit multiple applications as his / her application will be rejected if found so. Candidate should have valid email-id and contact details when he is apply form for CSAT 2016.
